PSEG PARTNERS WITH NJ TECH COUNCIL TO LAUNCH NEW JERSEY CLEANTECH ALLIANCE, STARTING WITH A COMPETITION AIMED TO PROMOTE ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND EQUITY SOLUTIONS IN THE GARDEN STATE.

The winner of this impact challenge will be awarded $50,000 cash and business mentorship.
(April 23, New Brunswick) The NJ Tech Council (NJTC), a nonprofit organization that represents over 500,000 innovators in the business and technology industry is partnering with Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), New Jersey’s largest provider of electric and gas service to support innovation within the CleanTech startup community. PSEG is the founding sponsor of the NJTC CleanTech Alliance, which represents a long term dedication to supporting innovation. The NJTC understands the increased demand of funding for small businesses in the time of this pandemic and has allocated a $50,000 cash prize to be awarded to the startup who demonstrates the most state-of-the-art solution for efficiency and equity through the CleanTech Impact Challenge. Applications open on April 23.
The CleanTech Impact Challenge is a competition designed to inspire energy equity for the state of New Jersey, driven by technology and innovation. Startups and small businesses working on innovative solutions to promote and create energy equity are encouraged to participate. PSEG Chairman, President and CEO, Ralph Izzo, will co-host a webinar with Andrew Yang discussing CleanTech Alliance initiatives and how PSEG is supporting innovation as well as the community with NJ Tech Council CEO, Aaron Price, on April 23 at 12:30 p.m. According to Izzo, “New and existing technologies will play a critical role in decarbonizing our economy and transitioning towards a cleaner, more resilient energy system. PSEG is proud to be the Founding Sponsor of the New Jersey Tech Council’s CleanTech Alliance supporting the new CleanTech Impact Challenge. At PSEG, we understand that to successfully address climate change, we must reach out beyond the energy industry and collaborate with creative, inventive thinkers to explore new ideas and foster opportunities.” Webinar details and registration can be found here: https://www.njtc.org/njtc-cleantech-launch-registration/
To qualify for the CleanTech Impact Challenge applicants must be under $2M in revenue and have a product of service that addresses one of the challenge statements relating to energy, gas, and workforce development. Businesses interested in applying to participate should visit njtc.org/cleantech-impact/ on April 23. The application deadline is midnight, July 31. Winner to be honored on-stage by PSEG and awarded a cash prize of $50,000 at the Sept. 24 Propelify Innovation Festival in New Jersey.
