Propelify 2020: 1.8M minutes

What a week. Over 5,000 attendees registered for Propelify, engaging in our virtual experience for over 1,797,487 minutes! The feedback, like below, has been humbling –

“Phenomenal! Very rarely do I attend an event where I am upset that I have to be pulled away to attend a meeting or call. I genuinely wish I could have watched every second – every speaker you’ve invited has been so very engaging!”

“This is one of the best events I have attended this year. I did not say virtual events, I said EVENTS. Period.”

We had skateboarding, the chief chicken officer, the Mooch, a popcorn chef, vinyasa yoga, fake Richard Simmons, real Governor Murphy, surprise-guest Senator Cory Booker, Marc Lore, the founders of Square, Noom, & Chief, thousands of virtual high-fives, and closed out Friday with a special closing ceremonies where I got dunk-tanked.

We learned about the woke business community from Al Roker, how Square beat Amazon, why the NJ EDA gave out millions to keep businesses afloat, how to create $1B worth of value like Cindy Eckert, how to pitch a VC the smart way with M12’s Tamara Steffens, the very real importance of diversity from Madison Merritt, and why Marc Lore asks recruits what it costs to have them walk backwards.

We also gave away $50,000 to our CleanTech Impact Challenge winner, WexEnergy, thanks to PSEG, on our #BetterPlanet day.

We focused on how tech can create wellness and the importance of investing in diverse founders with Hackensack Meridian Health on#BetterWellness day.

We learned how 5G is revolutionizing video and democratizing communication with Verizon’s 5G Lab on #BetterConnected day.

Did you miss it?

I want to thank the incredible team at TechUnited:NJ for making Propelify 2020 an absolutely remarkable experience for all of us. Thank you Jasmine, Ana, Chris, Devin, Kyra, and Dan. The heart and hard-work you dedicate to this community shines bright.

I also want to thank the volunteer leaders and our incredible sponsors who took a gamble on supporting a digital Propelify. We absolutely could not have done this without you. Support these organizations, they deserve it.
