Member Spotlight: Malbek

TechUnited:NJ recently sat down with member company, Malbek. We spoke with COO & Co-Founder, Matt Patel who helped us better understand exactly what Malbek is able to provide other organizations and their experience with TechUnited.

What is Malbek and how long has Malbek been a member of TechUnited:NJ?

Malbek is an enterprise cloud solution company that helps businesses with solving the challenges with legal agreements and contract management. Malbek, a cloud based organization, helps companies streamline the entire contract lifecycle and makes the data within the contract effective and visible to track legal obligations and terms easier. Malbek, a three-year old startup, has locations in both the east and west coast.

Malbek has been a member of the Council for two years.

What factors contributed to Malbek joining the TechUnited community?

Malbek has been able to enjoy a variety of benefits and experiences TechUnited has to offer. Matt dove into his ability to use communication tools such as Slack to connect with other members of TechUnited and the different forums available to members. In addition, Malbek was able to attend experiences such as Propelify and the Awards Celebration hosted in Bridgewater where they were able to connect with many influential and like-minded individuals, CEOs, founders, investors, fellow startups and other companies that are able to provide support to startups.

Have certain TechUnited experiences stuck out to you?

Malbek discussed how TechUnited has provided a great learning experience and networking opportunities. Experiences such as the Propelify Innovation Festival and the Awards Celebration have specifically been memorable which helped showcase the talent, resources and value of the NJ tech community.

What are some pieces of advice you have for other founders?

When pitching to VC’s make sure you are building a  good product and stay focused on your vision. It’s important to focus on a specific market segment where your organization can make a difference, understand what investors and the VC community is looking for.

In addition, Matt stresses the importance of finding a partner who is aligned with your culture and vision – and what you are trying to achieve.
